how to retrieve data as Json in classic

Hi,

I PHPrad vue version, I can just call the url without # to retrieve data as json.
How I can achieve the same with PHPRad classic? instead of writing apis.
I can see there is  controller called apiController, but I am not php expert to fully understand how its use.

Your help is appreciated.
